(PRESCHOOL ENVIRONMENT – ISLANDWIDE SINGAPORE)

Work Location: Islandwide Singapore (deployment based on operational needs)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Days: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)

Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary Range: $1,500 – $2,200 per month (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated, responsible individuals with high standards of cleanliness to join as Kitchen Assistant / Cleaning Staff in a preschool environment.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the school’s daily operations, particularly in ensuring that children’s meals and beverages are prepared safely and hygienically, and that the kitchen environment is maintained according to Singapore’s food safety standards.

A preschool setting requires strict attention to hygiene and safety. Therefore, the selected candidate must be detail-oriented, consistent, and highly aware of sanitation and food safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Work

1. Food Preparation Support

Wash, cut, and prepare food ingredients according to instructions.

Assist in preparing snacks and beverages for children’s tea break.

Ensure proper storage of food items in accordance with safety standards.

Maintain hygienic and organized food preparation processes.

Provide support to cooks or kitchen staff when required.

2. Kitchen Cleaning and Sanitation

Wash plates, cups, utensils, and all dining equipment after use.

Clean kitchen equipment such as chopping boards, knives, worktables, and storage racks.

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors and work areas throughout the day.

Ensure sinks and washing areas are clean and non-slippery.

Dispose of kitchen waste regularly and according to procedures.

Ensure the kitchen is clean and ready before and after operating hours.

3. Stock and Inventory Management

Monitor food supplies and kitchen inventory levels.

Replenish stock when supplies are running low.

Report shortages or purchasing needs to the supervisor.

Assist in ensuring efficient use of food supplies to minimize waste.

4. Compliance with Procedures and Standards

Comply with all applicable food safety and hygiene standards.

Follow operational procedures set by the school management.

Use work equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.

Support a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Suitable candidates should meet the following criteria:

Possess a valid WSQ Food Safety Certificate.

Experience working in a preschool, school, or educational institution is an advantage.

Prior experience in kitchen operations or cleaning roles will be considered favorably.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsible, disciplined, and dependable.

Detail-oriented with strong hygiene awareness.

Physically fit and able to perform tasks that require standing and active movement.

Comfortable working in an environment involving children.

Work Environment and Conditions

This position offers stable working hours with no night shifts. With a five-day work week, employees enjoy weekends off. The work environment is structured, professional, and focused on children’s safety and well-being.

Staff are expected to maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively with teaching and operational teams to ensure the smooth daily functioning of the school.
