Infants arrive according to the daily schedule created by their parents. Teachers greet the children and parents and get pertinent information needed to care for the child during the day. Parents wash the child’s hands and check to see if the child needs to be changed.

Infants are checked and changed as necessary, throughout the day but at least every 2 hours. Hands are washed, tables / highchairs sanitized. Older infants practice eating finger foods, drinking and talking with their caregivers.

Young Infants roll-over, scoot, inch and crawl, sit up, reach for items around them and climb.

All infants gather around to listen to stories, watch puppet shows, listen to music, sing songs, play with instruments, clap, bounce, play with balls, build with blocks, climb-on, around and through obstacle courses, babble and talk with the other children and adults in the classroom.

Infants go for a ride through the community to get fresh air and see the neighborhood sites.

Individual interaction between infants and caregivers occur frequently throughout the day. Infant caregivers hold the children, talk to them, sing to them, read to and play with them. Weekly goals and activities are set up for each infant according to their developmental stage and needs.

Infants are provided with their own individual cribs. Infants are soothed to sleep with soft lullabies, dimmed lights, back rubs, cradling and rocking.

Parents pick up their children at the designated arrival time. Parents receive a verbal report about their child’s day as well as a written daily report documenting what the child ate and drank, when they slept, how their overall mood was, activities they engaged in, any milestones they reached and other pertinent information to the child’s care during the day.
